Maitland
Maitland sits directly north of Winter Park and quietly offers much of the same geography — a chain of lakes, mature streets — with less ceremony and, often, meaningfully more house for the money. It is a neighborhood people discover when they stop comparing addresses and start comparing daily life.

Mid-century ranches and 1970s–80s custom homes on generous lots, many oriented to the water. Less architectural regulation than Winter Park, so streets are more varied.
Domestic and calm. Life organizes around the lakes, the cultural corridor along Packwood, and quick trips into Winter Park for dinner.
A short but genuine list in the Maitland City Centre area, with Park Avenue ten minutes away. The Enzian — an independent single-screen cinema with table service — is a local institution.
I-4 access is immediate, which is a gift and a caveat: downtown in fifteen minutes off-peak, but the interchange corridor is loud. SunRail stops here too.
Lakefront from roughly $1.2M, established interior streets in the $600s–$900s. The gap versus comparable Winter Park property is real and persistent.
